accerating spore prints.

Hey, I left my container(upside down jar) on my air pump for 10 min and got a really dark print. I don't know why I didn't think about this before, but it seems to work.

Can anyone think any negatives with this?

vibration helped to shake out the spores, the heat also helps to increase
humidity, sometimes if your caps are a little dry its good to add a drop of
water to increase the humidity and make it more favorable to drop spores...
the heat took care of that for you

my air pumps are fairly cool. Almost ambient temp(room temp is 68-70 always). So, no negative side effects?

If nothing bad, I can just cut off all the caps at beginning of harvest and put them in the drying chambers when I'm done picking the rest of shrooms out.

Did you sterilize the jar and usually you dont want a breeze hitting your prints right? Just enough to breath.
i put a wiped out 1/2 jar (bleach) in a clean toaster oven for 30 min on 350 Deg with the lid on but not tight. then tightened it when i took it out to let it cool. when cool put a cap w/ a push tack in the top in the jar and let the jar sit out of the light w/ the lid on loosely again. after 3 days i had a very dark print in a sterile jar.

It would be better to let it cool inside the toaster oven, I think.

Sealing the jar while still hot creates a vacuum inside, and when you open it the vacuum releases, sucking outside air inside. Not a big deal if you have a glovebox, but yeah.

no.  I use presterilized jar.(well, it's a sterile urine sample cup)

I've been waiting 2 days per print...  It was just so slow...

Still waiting for possible negative effects before I mass produce prints on my air pump. :wink:
