After the rain we've been getting I decided to go out for a look see in some cow pastures...

The picture is bad, not my camera, or computer, but those are libs!
They are BIG this year... Those 10 weigh 23g fresh together.
A little more rain and we'll have alot more

You always score!
Libs are the most frustrating to me! I'm sure they're lilke any of the others...once you know them...you know them.
But until then...I can't tell you HOW many friggin mushrooms I've drug home and decided not even to post because of being so f'in frustrated trying to ID them.
Rock on!

As you can see I have done in the pics, a good way to test for libs is to peel the slimy layer away from the cap.

dont look like libs to me. alot of grassland psilocybes have peelable skin. note the seceding gill structure, libs have totaly adnexed gills. seceding gills begin adnate (attached) and then separate, giving the appearance of free gills. like i can see the gills on yours do. similar to p. molerii or p. semiglobata amd other lawn-dwelling non-active psilocybes.

...so it actually will PEEL away from the meat of the cap rather than just wipe away like most slime?????

those particular specimines were in a tea of 200 others? i would say then you have a mixed tea, i am also 100% positive that the mushrooms in the pic are not liberty caps. ive seen alot of those while picking libs. but they are not libs.

nono, those are some I brought home with myself. Gills of a liberty cap:
sorry for the blurry pic this is the only camera i have lying around, and its old school:
god that image is shitty, you cant even see the gill structure. the gills in my specimen are adnate/seceding.

Yes, you are correct. That one is definantly not a lib.
After sifting through my collection of 20, I have three which have adnexed gills. I'll get some macro shots tomorrow, but two of them are in the first pic, the two rounder ones in the middle with broken stems.

all the mushrooms in the pic i can see gills of show the same trend. also, dispite damage and bruising im not seeing bluing, libs will usually blue. also the same reminant veil appears on each specimine. i find this to be something of a pecularity to psilocybe semilancaeta

Once again, you are correct.
Observe the two round-capped specimins in the middle. There is no veil. The gills are barely visible on the left one, but you can see that it is adnexed.
