Ok I have my jars steaming right now. I was just wondering if I should Store the jars in a dark area, like in a container or just keep em out in a lighted area by indirect sunlight.

Best suggestion is to make an incubator.  Tub in tub is a very good solution for about $35.  A lot cheaper if you can find old used aquarium heater.

If you don't want to invest in an incubator, try to keep them in the dark and around 83-85F.  If you keep the jars at 70F, you'll probably get them colonized in a month or two or three...  Using an incubator will cut that time down to about 10-20 days at 84F.

Good Luck

Sam

I suggest 200w for extra couple of bucks... but 100w should be okay unless your winter months are really cold indoors.

depends on size of container i have a 6 pints container that uses a 25 watt heat and a 24 pint one uses a 60 watt one doesnt really matter as long as it keeps the water at the right temp.
