quick karo question

so Ive done this before with spores and it worked out fine. My question is about using tissue with karo/honey water. It is time to harvest, but I dont want to make up a karo jar right now, can I just pluck a mushy and put it into some peroxide and water, then cut a piece of inner stem tissue out in a day or two? Im pretty sure I read something like this in the bulk neglect report.

yeah ive heard of that but i thought peroxide killed spores.
