Well Tek?
    #3270321 - 10/24/04 04:10 AM (13 years, 5 months ago)

I inoculated my first jars the other day and all are almost completley colonized. I followed the well tek. Made a hole in the middle of my substrate with a sharpie the put my dry vermiculite on and pressure cooked. After birthing if I give them a little sterile water every day or two will it increase my yield per flush and up my total flushes? has anyone used this tek and how well does it work? thanks.

that sounds interesting. haven't heard of it till now either. but dunking before the 1st flush and after each successive flush would work better, I would imagine. for one thing, if you've made a "well" in the middle of the substrate, there's less substrate than there otherwise would be, so the cakes might get spent faster since there isn't as much nutrients.

I just make sure verm on the bottom is fully saturated. I actually keep a think layer of standing water around and under the bottom verm layer.(don't do this part if you have contam prone house) It seems to suck that water up in about 12-24 hours during fruiting. Probably not a good idea while pinning.
