New substrate is breeding haven for mycellium
    #3268043 - 10/23/04 02:05 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

Yea so I picked up some millet to try out...turned out to be hulled and you are supposed to use not hulled. I figured you are supposed to use not hulled because the seeds are a lot bigger and allow for more room for mycellium to grow. So instead of just junking my tiny seedling hulled millet, I boiled it up with some elbow macaroni.

I injected with EQ honey water sometime around a week ago, and it's almost fully colonized by now. Thickest and whitest myc I have ever seen! I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Sorry pic isn't the greatest, I'm still learning how to take good images, light is always my problem!

Ahh. Thanks arbalest.

The macaroni thing is still giving me pause. After reading a lot, it seems that just about anything will work as a substrate. Is there a macaroni tek? A pasta tek?

I don't understand why it's abbreviated "EQ". There is no "Q" In Ecuador ... lol
