i dont really have to, but thats what happends.....no one can help it.....even if you think you know whats up, your thought of that is the reason why its wrong......... to be right, is to not exist in the first place, there is no right.... but there is........see the contradiction?

I see this all the time in PAL. People assume that because I'm libertarian, I have no compassion for the poor, or that I'm selfish with my money, or support oppression of the working class, none of which are true. Even when I tell someone why I believe what I believe, some still second guess me and try to tell me what my underlying motivations are.

and as for your question swami
"Are these posters on drugs? Do they have severe reading disorders? Or do they truly believe that have the inside track on another's thoughts? "
who said anything about drugs? and is there an assumption there that a person can't read as clearly on drugs?
when you mentioned "these posters," are you referring to those who believe in telepathy, or towards those who tell you how you are thinking/feeling?
-------------------- Annnnnnd I had a light saber and my friend was there and I said "you look like an indian" and he said "you look like satan" and he found a stick and a rock and he named the rock ooga booga and he named the stick Stick and we both thought that was pretty funny. We got eaten alive by mosquitos but didn't notice til the next day. I stepped on some glass while wading in the swamp and cut my foot open, didn't bother me til the next day either....yeah it was a good time, ended the night by buying some liquor for minors and drinking nips and going to he diner and eating chicken fingers, and then I went home and went to bed.

It was a question (NOT a declarative) which is normally indicative of an attempt to clarify. "Great benefit" was quite vague wasn't it?

who said anything about drugs? As I started the thread, it was very likely to be me.
...and is there an assumption there that a person can't read as clearly on drugs? No assumption there for the more popular illicit drugs. This website is not the Aspirinery, is it?
when you mentioned "these posters," are you referring to those who believe in telepathy, or towards those who tell you how you are thinking/feeling? Yes.

There was a great read posted a few months back called E-Prime, though it didn't get nearly as much feedback as I had expected it would. Two problems Tren: 1. You actually expected people to *gasp* read an article. Pull out the juicy bit as a marketing ploy leading to the article. 2. You are not as controversial as the Swam. I set myself up so that people can take a shot. You are very polite and thoughtful. Where is the "fun" in that? Do you think people are actually interested in substance?

Assumption is natural, and perfectly fine, in some cases.
No matter what you say we all assume things, every day, all day.
When you wake up in the morning, you assume that everything in your house is the way you left it when you went to sleep.
When you get in your car you assume it is going to start.
When you drive down the street you assume that if a light is green, you can safely travel through the intersection.
So lets say one morning you wake up, and your apartment has been raided.
You get in your car and the son of a bitch wont turn over. After popping the hood you notice some really bad corrosion around the battery connections.
You friend comes to pick you up for work, and on the way, someone runs a red light and t-bones you.
Did you get what you had coming because you assumed it wouldn't? Or is it just bad luck?
Just my two cents.
