Ive had enough of PCs, too much shit goes wrong wit mine all the time. Everytime I load up i have to spend ten mins ending programs deleting files and running spybot jsut to get my pc to run ok. and even then shit keeps goin wrong.
I thiink if i buy another computre its gonna be a mac.. For music making and graphic deisign they're the equal if not better than windows on a PC. I dun use games on my PC so why suffer the crashes anymore?

the new power mac g5's are indubitably sweet, the first non-gaytard thing apple has come out with since the IIe back in the day. absolutly wonderful for multimedia.
otherwise, i suggest installing linux, you will never (NEVER) get spy-, ad-, or anyother malware, ever. Its good. I run 5u5E 9.1 i freakin love it, my computer which ran like shit under windows runs grrrrrrrreat now.

You not having the proper security mesures on your platform doesn't mean PC's are bad. I havn't been highjacked yet on this comp, but I write protect most my computer - best way to avoid highjackers.
Just wait til you get a MAC and your loaded with Backdoors and Highjackers. you know how much of a bitch it is to clean out a MAC?
First MAC wont let you open the computer in the first place, you need to be apple certified or you void your contract. OR you take it to a MAC tech in your town and have him charge you 75$ an hour to clean it out.
A PC can have its Mirror image copied back onto it in a few mins.
Take advantage of your RAID ARRAYS!!

I must say firefox is a great browser, specially with the tab feature. My problems started before i got firefox, in fact it got to the stage where i couldnt get to any websites with Internet explorer anymore and someone suggested firefox, god bless em Yea i didnt have any firewalls on my pc but i didnt know how to or where to get them.... Cortez where could i get that version of linux? A PC store? If i ever did switch to mac it would be a wierd refreshing feeling mixed with deep guilt, For some reason ive had an irrational hate of mac since my early teens lol, musta been microsoft mindcontrol hehe edited just to get your name right cortez

bah, down with mac. do yourself a favor and get firefox and thunderbird. you'll never have to worry about spyware again, at least not from browsing the web and reading your email.

there are many different versions (distros) of linux available for free online. The most featured (some would say bloated) is mandrake 10 (www.mandrake.com), it is also the simplist, and most user-friendly version, and typically a good starting point for linux n00bs. If you want something good, instead of something really simple, go with SuSE, you can download the 'personnal' edition for free (no commersial software, no dev. liraries, no server software) at www.suse.com (you can download all the software is DOESN"T come with fairly easily with a little google searching).
They all come with a real clean GUI (actually multiple, KDE and Gnome among others) that is ultra-configurable, and very intuitive. But you must be willing to learn some things you never think about with windows, like compiling programs from source for example. I wont get into why this is better, but its easy to dual-boot with linux and windows so you try for yourself before you totally exorcice your machine of windoze.

i think people have held grudges against apple since ever since the shitty high-school "computer-lab" shit machines. you really need to give the new G5 a chance, i think they hae made amazing improvements.

alas, the computer gaming world is very limited to windoze. few good games on mac, very few on linux. i dont really play many games either though so it doesnt matter for me.

Theres one problem, ME is terrible. Try to pick up a copy of 2000, or XP if you can. Borrow one from a friend or something.

Yes, firewalls and firefox = k3y. Go ahead and pick up protowall and the blocklist manager too. For details visit http://www.bluetack.co.uk
You could also check out linux like cortez says. I just switched over last monday. I started with mandrake 10.0, but I made the mistake of only burning one of the three discs so I was missing a lot of software. Now I'm using fedora core 2 with the KDE environment and I really like it. All this coming from a long time windows user ...
I wouldn't recommend mac, but I can't give you any reasons as to why. It's mostly my personal preference I guess.
