Prisoners (pickers) Dilemma
    #3265347 - 10/22/04 07:35 PM (12 years, 4 months ago)

Let's say there is a location that is always getting torn up by baby rapers, and that you have some patches near said location which the baby rapers have not found. While picking your patches, you notice some decent size pins near the constantly raped areas. Do you pick said pins? You know last time you left pins there, they have been picked with damage to the underground mycellum network. Further, you would not damage the network to pick said pins. Lets say that you also know the patch was raped two days ago, and suspect it's raped at least twice a week. You think that if you leave the pins, someone will rape said patch. If you trust other pickers, you would leave the pins. But if you think patch rapers will come across them, you might be better off cutting the pins and saving the mycellum the inevitable damage from those who would just pull the pins out. I ran across some such pins in said situation. I chose to hide the pins best I could by piling debris and blackberry brambles across them, but maybe one of the experts would have an opinion on whether safely harvesting the decent sized pins would be better then letting the patched get tore up by dumbshits.

didnt know you could name parks where actives grow on here...

My CA Legend:
A plus sign (+) means I took it within 20 minutes of then.
A minus sign (-) means I took it more than 20 minutes ago, but it's still active.

everyone on the west coast interested in active mushrooms probably knows about GGP

to the OP, I personally would just leave them to their foolishness rather than sit around only to lecture them on the finer points of sustainability. If you pick them, rape it as they do, transplant it, and hope they don't scour the area to find your patch. Best of luck to you.

Where people want to get high and there is lots of competition that sort of thing will happen. There aren't only mycology enthusiasts out there. Most kids just want to get high.
