Patience wearing thin...
    #3264439 - 10/22/04 11:38 AM (19 years, 5 months ago)

How much do lower temperatures slow down pinning/fruiting in cakes? (Say, 68-72 degrees) One cake has started pinning (a little bit). The others, which were birthed on later days within the subsequent week, have nada. For example, cake B was birthed 8 days ago and has nothing.

The humidity is within ideal range. Air circulation is fine. Everything else appears to be fine.

It can take up to two weeks. Just drop the temp into the 70s, give them around 10-12 hours of light a day, and give them air. They'll pin.

I have bad news... your cakes are going to turn green, catch fire, and burn your house down!

Just kidding, you're doing fine. Just keep on being patient and you'll be having shrooms in no time.

Foaf had a cake in the same situation as you, lower temps. It took 12 days for him to see pins. It took another 5 days until he was able to harvest his first mushroom and then it was only a couple because the flush was kinda uneven on his cake, mostly he thinks due to lower temps.

Thanks, gas. One more question: I've heard that yelling at them helps. Is that true, or is it just an urban myth?

Yelling at them doesnt help. Talking nicly to them and playing good music for them does. They don't like bad vibes though. Grow with good vibes!
