be careful about picking those mushrooms. if you take all the Smurffs'homes, they will become increasingly more rare. we must preserve the habitats of such poor endangered species...

i suppose you're the kind of person who would go and pick all of their smurf-berries too, eh...

Attn PWN hunters: If you should come across a bluing Psilocybe matching P. pellicolusa please smell it.
If you detect a scent reminiscent of Anethole (anise) please preserve a specimen or two for study and please PM me.

i would be inclined to disagree based only on the apperance of concentric rings along the volva. i can not however be certain.

Bmarley: if you would like to confirm this?

Cool pics, I've been seeing a lot along the road but I never seem to find them in the woods.

concrete which are you disagreeing with formosa/ or flavicona..... there does not appear to be concentric rings .. let me take a pic for yall..

i believe the candidates for this mushroom are either
http://pluto.njcc.com/~ret/amanita/species/muscgues.html
or the eastern version of formosa (please help me in deciding)

but i found some bright yellow species with definate concentric rings in the same area.. heres their volva,
flavacona?

from the volva, it indeed looks like muscaria var formosa. I just thought the smaller ones looked to have yellow on the veil and the color on the cap seemed similar to the small Flavaconia that I often find in the summer.
The larger ones are almost definitely formosa

Agarics are not rare here but I only take a few ones who are run over by my dog...

Since that monster of yours is enough for many trips, which is NO fun with the Fly Agaric mostly use it for ritual purposes, I dont really get why you took more.....
