blue green on popcorn
    #3264111 - 10/22/04 11:45 AM (13 years, 7 months ago)

My friend has a couple of quarts with blue green spots on them. He's not an experienced grower so he's not sure what to think. He jars are almost completely colonized with very rhizomorphic growth, but they have been slow finishing up at the very top and bottom. So he gave them a good shake the other day in an attempt to help this..although nothing moved but the few uncolonized seeds on top. Could this blue green stuff be bruising? Or would that generally look just like the lighter pure blue that on sees on shrooms?
I know this is kind of useless without a picture, but any help would be great. Thanks!

yeap. I also believe it could be bruising.
Anyway, is this bluing seen on the uncolonized kernels or on the mycelium ?

Does it look like this?

If so, its a contam. See the mycelium mixed with the mold.
