how tight are ur jar lids? You might want to lossen the jar lid a bit, and then put the foil back on

12 days and 45% sounds like a good pace.

I was talking about new jars. I find it much faster if you keep it as fluffy as possible inside the jar.

I agree with blackcat, try loosening your lids and replacing the foil on them. Don't loosen them much, 1/4 of a turn is enough to increase air exchange because you still want high CO2 levels. Mycelium loves high CO2 for it's vegetative stage, but too much CO2 can be bad.

Your substrate could also be dry, or is this not a possibility?

When you make your substrate take some in your hand and squzze.Should leave your hand wet but no drops. If its to dry it will stall latter or just stop growing.IMO

Good Luck

I was always under the impression that when you squeeze, "just a few drops" should come out of the substrate/verm. mix? A few, but some.

I am having the same exact problem. So don't despair. It happens to all us newb's. Mine have all seemed to just STOP after 2 weeks. Not even up to 30%. Not sure what to do at this point. Let me know what you have done to correct, and if it has worked. Thanks.

Yes, turn them upside down and turn their lids 1/4 of a turn.  Looks like you know what you're doing

Next time you prepare your substrate, if you use the BRF formula, to get your vermiculite to the right moisture content try this:

Dump all the verm in a bowl that you will need for all your jars and then slowly add water while stirring (which you probably did).  Now, push all the verm out of one section of the bowl and continue adding water.  Everytime you add even a little amount of water, tip your bowl with the clear spot at the bottom of the inclined bowl bottom.  As soon as you see a VERY SMALL trickle of water come out from under your verm, you are golden.  Then just stir in your BRF.

Works for me everytime now.
