odd clear gel

i was putting one of my cakes in the terrarium and i noticed some odd clear gel on the bottom of the cake. it was only about 2-3cm big and it didnt smell like anything. any clues as to what it is? some kinda odd mold?

foaf says that could be normal. He's not seen any blobs that big before, but has seen small ones. His theory is that the mycelia uses these 'blobs' as a nutrient storage zone. Similar to sclerotia, but in a non-durable gel-like form.
