Treating others equally
    #3261405 - 10/21/04 07:23 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

It sounds like a nice concept, doesn't it? We may convince ourselves that people are born equal, but we are bound to give preference to some people over others. What happened to Shroomism recently is tragic, but the same tragedy happens to millions of Americans every day. So why don't we go into public mourning all the time for those injustices? The fact is that we hold Shroomism higher than those other people because we felt close to him. He touched our lives in some way, so he holds more importance in our eyes than the anonymous millions who suffer a similar fate. None of those people are necessarily better or worse human beings than him, but they mean less to us. If we truly believed in treating everyone equally, then we would be posting bail for all those people. Of course, we don't have the money to do that, so we selectively choose to help those we know.

i guess i look at it this way, i treat ALL humans equally, because i treat them all based on the same criteria. I will judge every person i meet based on their actions and my observations and assumptions about their character. see what im saying?

everyone is entiteld to that same treatment, regardless or race, religion, height, appearance, sexual preference, etc.

When I say we are equals, this is what I mean. We are spiritual equals, made of the same spirit essense, from the same source, with the same infinitude of power and potential to be realised. I acknoledge, respect and honor that. I put no one spiritually above or below me.

I never mean to imply that we are equals in this world regarding physicalities like physical looks, health condition, genetics, abilities, equal experience to draw from, IQ, yada yada.

I like life better when I make spiritual equity matter over material/physical inequities.

Maybe we should discuss the benefit of them.

(my subjective view)

We are not made from anything, but rather exist as fragments of this 'thing'.

The idea that we are seperate from our source, as in we come from the same source, rather than being fragments of the same source, causes a lot of misunderstanding and conflict, in my view.

Of course, no sources or facts

Well I would agree with you if you didn't say "we are not made of anything."  Although I know what you mean, it's a bit sloppy to say that and lots of people would take it the wrong way.  Evidently we are made of flesh, bone, cells, atoms, electrons, quarks etc...

Sorry

Fine, we are not created by a solitary external entity, but rather exist as a component of it, or something.

You know what I mean though
