To BRF or not to BRF

I'm quite the newbie, and the only way I've ever seen shrooms grown were on brown rice flour cakes... is this a fairly stable and easy way to grow them? What is everyone's personal favorite method? Please enlighten me.

Inoculating birdseed with a isolated strain and casing with the 50/50+ casing.

if you've never grown shrooms before, I would suggest going with the PF tek. i used the shroom wizards tek with pint jars and it worked, but it took forever to colonize. I inoculated six pf jars 3 days ago and the growth is phenomenal. But if you used bird seed u need a pressure cooker. I ground up some finch seed in a coffee grinder and mixed with verm/brf, since i don't have a pc. i hope it works.

hey--go for a pf style tek. they are relizble, economical and as straight forward as it gets (even though there are almost always moments of uncertainty in any process...)

check out growmushrooms.org

i like this tek a lot. it is very similar to pf.

Yes brf a-la MMGG or PF tek is the way to go for starters FOR SURE!
My friends favorite is similar to anno's; innoculating Birdseed with a mycelial solution, then spawning cheap ass (but as good as rip-off Ryches) dung, and casing 50-50(my friend is running low on vermiculite and can't find anymore.... aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh).
