I say stick with my eraser cased LED plan if you really want an LED light source. Otherwise, use a glue gun and some clear plastic.

Hey, I have a similar setup to you. I cut 6 small holes in the top of my pmp, put blue lights in, and sealed with glue gun. I hooked them up in a parallel circuit with the power source being a 3 V adapter. I installed a switch and turn in off when I go to bed. Works like a charm.
