what's next? several kestions

theoretically,
1. mycelium is grown in liquid culture, then this culture is used to innoculate a tupperware container of 3" of substrate (in say a 4"high x 12" x 12" container,or something to that effect), closed and left in a dark room temp. space until fully colonized

2. what now?
should this be cased first or should it be allowed to fruit?
what humidity should this occur at, and what is the most precise way to measure humidity?
how much light is required to initiate pinning? 10 min a day? 2 hours?

if the top of the humididty chamber were clear plastic of the rubbermaid/tupperware type would this allow the correct spectrum of light to pass through thereby initiating pinning?

thank you, gray1

i don't grow mushrooms, the nature of these inquiries is purely for curiosity's sake and completely theoretical

It depends on your substrate whether you should case or not, but if your not sure you can always case, it doesn't harm much.  around 80% humidity is good, a little more, a little less.  An accurate way to measure humid. is to use a digital hydrometer, but if you can't find or afford one just use a reptile humidity gauge and anywhere in the tropical zone is good.

Alot of people just go by saying if you can see the cakes then thats enough light.  If the plastic is clear then it should let in all the needed light, other translucent colors would probably still be ok.

I can see a world where this is no poverty and no war, I can also see us attacking that world because they would never expect it.
