i have a question about
freaky looking ... AFOAMonkey of mine just
started, and he was passed on some nameless spores .
He just started fruiting in his poor-man terrarium (cased in there) about a
week ago...
Well the thing is i'm not really good about telling strains apart and when he
showed them to me i was really baffled. He described the fruiting (i came in
when caps were opening) like this : the casings pinned and grew fine - the
terr. had 2 bunches of pins growing-the bunches eventualy turned into about
20 *tiny* fruits 1-1+1/2 inches..... the vails broke on the stems(this is what i
didn't get).... i dont really know how to describe it since i never really seen it
before .... but the caps grew upwards(while still closed) and the veil broke
before the cap opened and grew up another 1/2 to 1/4 inch before opening
up... anyway these were the smallest little buggers i'd ever seen... can some
one help??

You just described how most mushrooms grow.
I would have to say its probably a mushroom, and if it makes you trip its probably a Psilocybe. Good luck from there.
I can see a world where this is no poverty and no war, I can also see us attacking that world because they would never expect it.

Probably a mexican strain. They can be smallish. It also has to do with the thickness of the substrate you cased. If it's only 1-2 inches thick, the fruits will be smaller. Best is 3" for cubies.
The early veil breaking, then growing 'closed' is the result of high humidity in my foaf's opinion.
