Humidity and incubation?
    #3254902 - 10/20/04 05:11 AM (12 years, 1 month ago)

I have a tub in tub incubator, and the humity in the tub is 83% is that to much? I think some of the vapors are getting into the incubation tub. But will I be ok at 83%?

don't worry about the humidity in the incubator. It would be much higher inside the jar anyways. No worries, just keep them nice and warm.

Yep! You don't wany too high a RH level in your incubator because warmth and humidity equals proliferating contams. Except in the sterile environment of the inside of the jars (they love it!!!) GL

I was gonna make a new topic but I'll just ask in here since it's roughly along the same lines.

I built my PMP yesterday and the hygromter was reading only 80, I just checked it and now its down to about 76 so how can I raise the humidity and what is causing this loss in humidity?

Medley, either Add more perlite/geolite/lava rock or decrease the water in the container.

If using hydroton go with 3-4in. depth and water at 2/3-3/4 the depth.
