I am going to grow eq's in a very large rubbermaid container. A plexiglass window will be used at the top for the needed light, humitity will be created by using a layer of perlite and the cakes are going to rest on muffin tins. My only problem is that for someweekends I will be absent fri afternoon to sunday afternoon and I was wondering if there is anyway I could leave it alone without a airpump?

If you used a humidifier that would take care of it. Or a fan on a timer, you could set it however you wanted it. Computor fans work great.

I think they should be fine, they really are not as sensitive as you think. A couple days wont hurt every once in awhile, just make sure you ventilate well before and after you leave.
