Is blueish stems before and after picked normal? And if the top layer of the myc. has a blue tint to it (looks and feels like the white flimsy stuff inside of an orange peel)? thanks

blue tint is bruising and is done when you come in contact with the cakes/mushrooms/stems. it is normal.

Yeah but they were blue before I picked them. And are picked shrooms supposed to have a distinct smell to them?

some say the mycelium has a blueish tint to it?  well the shrooms should smell like mushrooms and it's hard to explain the smell in words :frown:

The smell of a fresh mushroom makes me cringe and shiver.

If it was blue then it is bomb.
