Mycelium on Stem - Conflicting Opinions
    #3253590 - 10/19/04 11:19 PM (12 years, 7 months ago)

Awesome Site - First Post

I'm reading some conflicting reports-

What does it mean when there is mycelium growing on the stem?
The mycelium is pretty thick on several.

From what I understand, this means humidity is too high.

However, there is also a small spot of mycelium on the cap of another.  Doesn't this mean humidity is too low?

:mushroom2: Thanks :mushroom2:

It is fine, I wouldnt put to much thought into it as mine always have some growing on the stems and they turn out just fine.

Sometimes though it will take over smaller pins and cause them to abort which is bad. You can always lower the humidity though.

i believe hyphae, you should too. he knows his stuff.

i wouldn't worry about the myc on the stems, no big deal, it happens on all of my mushies and most i see in the growlog and pictures forum.

Don't worry about fuzz unless it starts rotting your stems. Low humidity results in aborts. So don't worry if you got healthy mushrooms. High humidity usually gives you extra fuzz everywhere.

I get mycelium on stems always..sometimes on caps too. Often actually  Especially if I leave them to when the cap turns up, I think it catches alot of mist at that point and the myc grows. Its all good though
