mexicana truffle grow

Hi, this is my second attempt at growing shrooms and i thought hey why not grow alot of them. This is my plan to grow a couple of kilograms of mexicana strain a sclerotia, if you can find any flaws or any improvements please post, i really dont want to mess this one up. This is a list of all the supplies i have:
25KG rye grass seed
50 autoclavable filter patch bags
mexicana a strain spore syringe
60 cable ties
several jars
some malt extract
a glove box
lots of disinfectant
an alcohol lamp
and a surgical mask
My plan is to make a batch of liquid mycelium by pc'ing some jars filled with malt extract and water (i could use honey) and inoculating them with spores in my glove box in the bathroom with everything wiped down nice and sterile. Once the liquid mycelia has grown (any one know how long this will take), i will put in the spawn bags 1kg of grass seed and 1.5 litres of water (would it be better to use dilluted coffee?). Just before i pc the bags i will almost close the bags off using the cable ties but allow enough room for air to escape. Then pc the spawn bags for 2 hours (should i put the spawn bags inside a wet pillow case or something simmilar to stop them from melting?). Once the spawn bags are pc'd i will inoculate them with the liquid mycelia (any one know how much inoculant to use?), and incubate them at around 80 degrees. does any one know how long mexicana mycelia takes to colonize a bag and when can i expect sclerotia formation to occur? Anybody got an estimate as to how much sclerotia 25kg of grass seed will produce?
Your help is much apreciated

I'd say about 40% of the weight..10kg. Good luck with the bags, I had more success with the jars.

I'd say stick with cubensis, sclerotia and mushrooms are very different, fruiting sclerotia isnt an easy task

You dont think so? I just put them in a closet where they stay about 75 once colonized, in the dark but occasionally a little light and they start forming the stones...

Growing Sclerotia is easy as hell. Fruiting the bastards (Mushrooms) is another story. Fortunately, sclerotia is bulky, edible and magic. Sclerotia is easier to produce than cubes. IT IS! http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat...f4449bb5510ab6e

I know... we're saying the same thing. I was replying to Prisoner who suggested cubes were easier.

Possibly. It can definatly take over 5 days. Sometimes you just can't see it either. Make sure your shaking the jars or swishing them around to get them air in the water. If after another week you still see nothing then you should worry. I think they'll be fine though.
