Just tried my first casing using cakes that had been birthed for about 3 days...cakes are verm/brf and casing is verm. Two days after making the casing, some fuzzy stuff appeared on the top of the casing. I have no digital camera, but I found a pic of exactly what this looks like:

You can try giving it more light, more air and spray it with a h2o2:h2o solution. If after a week you have no results and it keeps coming back, forget it. Replacing the top layer is also a good idea. Anyway, it all depends on the extent of the contamination. If it has invaded most of the casing, it shouldn't worth saving. It's your call now. Btw, you should clean your terrarium with bleach after this batch. Cobweb spores might still be there.
