Ive used negative ion generators before and noticed some strange results,
first, the dispersal of negative ions into the air will make dust and other junk charged in a way so that it drops to the ground, this is nice cause the dust isn't flying around, but the problem is that the dust sticks to everything, a hepa would filter the dust. if you use one in a smokey room you can expect to see dust outlining everything in the room, i guess the 'collection plates' are supposed to catch all the dust, but i think they make a huge mess. also if you use a ionizer near metal, or mylar!!, it can give the metal a static charge that will zap you every time you touch the stuff, i have not used this in a high humidity space but i dint think it would be worth the trouble. zzzzzaaappp.
and if you read most ionizer claims they are no where as boastful as sharper images ionic breeze, in fact ionizer were studied intensely in Russia for treatment of seasonal depression, due to the almost never ending winters in some parts of Russia, the studies were promising but the findings were hard to prove,
i do like the fact that you can add an ionizer to a room full of chronic and in less than a week the funk will have no smell, nice for close quarter growing. using an ionizer instead of a hepa, is like using a florescent light instead of high pressure lamp, and thinking its just as good. that orick thing is cool, but its like a fifty dollar can of baking soda for your fridge. you guys should see what makes an ionizer really work, its nothing, a monkey with a soldering gun could put together a ionic breeze and for the money its a huge rip off 00
