I ordered some gourmet mushrooms and if any grow I was going to test market them to resturants and maybe a farmers market. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried it?

you could sell them yourself in a farmer's market.
To sell to restaurants, you will probably need a permit.

I am thinking about this myself, I have talked to other people who sell at farmers markets and restuarants and they do pretty well. What kind are you growing???

you can also sell them on ebay, I've seen this done a few times but you don't really know the quality and they don't sell for a whole lot of cash. I'd try to do the fresh ones locally and if you have any extras you cold try that. If not, I'm sure that there would be people in the marketplace for us that would be

If you're really interested in selling to restaurants, this may be of some help. I have worked in many high end (fancy-shamncy) restaurants that buy product direct from growers. As far as I know, none of these purveyors had any special license, but the board of health probably would frown on this. What the chef/ owner is interested in is QUALITY. This may mean calling/ visiting restaurants that use seasonal/ high- end ingredients. Establish a relationship (this may mean providing small amounts of freebies). Restaurants that sell expensive food ARE interested in having the best locally grown ingredients and they are willing to pay top price. At my last place of employment, we would get morels in the spring and lobsters and chanterelles in the late summer/ fall. If you live near any big cities in Texas it shouldn't be hard to find any number of restaurants that would love to have your product. And remember- constant supply is not necessarily an issue, quality is. Most of these restaurants rotate their menus to showcase the best ingredients. Sounds like fun- GOOD LUCK!

Yeah you don't need a liscense to sell to a resturaunt.
When you want to be a business ya do and then they might take ya more seriously.

Been selling wild mushrooms to restuarants for quite some time now.
You dont need a special license or anything. I know some 4 and 5 star restuarants that buy edibles from guys living in their broke down van/car/truck that havent showered in a week simply because they are willing to accept a lower payment. All that chef is concerned with is a good quality at the lowest possible price he can get. If that means buying morels from a crackhead that lives in the woods, a chef would do it.
Its a difficult market to understand and thrive in. You will quickly understand that production is not a concern what-so-ever. Its finding a market.
Edibles are in demmand wherever they are not pleantiful. Since cultivated mushrooms can be cultivated by anyone anywhere, the market is difficult to find. Wild mushrooms that cannot be cultivated (as easy, if not at all) are in market wherever they do not grow.
Those that cultivate edibles generally have been in the game awhile and have big operations, however this does not mean they have all the potential customers.
My suggestion:
learn how to cultivate the Pine Mushroom, then move to Japan
