soaking grain - cold vs hot

when you soak grain does the grain benefit any from being soaked in cold or hot\warm water? wich is best and why.

note: english is my 3rd languange, please ignore misspelling and poor english, im doing my best :smile:

well for the time you have to soak it 24 hours or something, the hot would of turned cold anyway, the purpose is to germinate and hydrate, the hydration comes when you simmer which is hot water, stick with plain vanilla :grin:

The purpose is to germinate, but to germinate endospores which can be done in cool water. You might end up germinating your grain if you soak in warm water. It will cool over 24 hours but it will take a few hours to cool from hot tap water and that can be enough..depending on how ready to go your grain is.. I use cool water everytime. Now anyways. And yep, ^^^ that's why :smile:
