Carn ye doo et lahk thees jars -n- tyvek
    #3249670 - 10/12/04 10:02 PM (19 years, 5 months ago)

I think I've read conflicting info about using bands and tyvek; tyvek, coffee filters, and rubberbands; bands, lids, tyvek.
If our lids and bands are getting rusty, can we use tyvek, then coffee filters, then rubberbands on jars?  Or is this too much air flow?  Thanks all!

yes, you can still use tyvek, I prefer to replace the bands if the rust is getting bad
I would omit the coffee filters, tyvek is pretty damned durable

Use just tyvek and the ring and the lid is optional, some do some dont but if you live in a dry place it _could_ dry your jars out a little using no lid.
