i think i finally found them this time! i hope.
substrate: grass, in a fairly wet/almost marshy feild. used for hay.
weather: been misty/rainy last week or 2. pretty cool. last 2 days its been clear but pretty cold sun.
Stem: about 2" long quite thin...bout 1/8" i guess. brown. it flex's a lot but it doesnt bend smooth it sorta breaks without breaking. splits and is fibrey.
cap: pretty tall. the bigger one is a little msaller than a quarter.
spore print loosk black to me but when more drop ill scan it and post. see what yall think.

I see those everywhere, not liberty caps though. with libs I like you to look for the slimmy roundish cap with vertical lines running down it (on top of every other obvious trait)

ahh ok. well teh spores are black. i dotn think there is anyway to call them any hint of pruple.

Well, looks like you have some Panaeolus foenisecii....found tons of them in my lib cap stop last weekend...here's some pics: http://www.fungusfun.com/mushrooms/modul...=view_album.php The good thing is that your finding the same habitat that supports lib caps....you'll find them soon
