I guess it depends on what's in the iso.

Assuming it's for a bootdisk (linux, or the like):
Copy the file to a CD
Set your bios to boot from CD before hard disk
Restart your computer with the CD in the drive

Copying the ISO to the cd will not do it.

In your cd-burning application, somewhere there should be an option to "Burn Image."

Simply coping the file to the cd will just result in there being a large iso file on the CD. An ISO is a raw image containing everything on the cd, as well as all extra flags/markers (in this case, bootable).

this is illegal btw and most cd protections protect against just making an image of a cd and reburning it. but if you copied something that didn't have copy protection on it it would go as follows. open nero (www.ahead.de) and then go under Recorder then burn image and open up your .iso file.

if you have a game that you LEGALLY OWN AND BOUGHT you can goto this website and they can help you make an archival backup http://www.gamecopyworld.com/.

Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. A Prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded.

I looked around a bit, and found this:
http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/index.php

It is an application called daemon tools that emulates a CD rom - it should allow you to run the iso, but might take a little while to figure out. I've never used it.

There are many programs out there that will let you mount the image virtually. The program will tell your computer that you have another virtual CD drive, and then load the image into it, so its just like you have the cd in your drive.

Personally I love Alcohol 120%. It does an awesome job burning all sorts of images and mounting them.

OK this is what you do. GET nero or alcohol 120%. Both of these programs have a foriegn image burner that will burn about anything. They can also burn an iso image file.

If using nero click recorder or chooser recorder tab whatever its called. Then pick burn image. If you are using a non standard image file you may have to type *.* into the open box to get it to show you all file extensions. Or if you know the exact name you can type it in.
