I'd say they grow fairly quicky (a couple of days).
I found some in the garden, so have been keeping an eye on them One day I looked and there were quite a few small pins, the next day I looked and all these had been replaced with mature ones, with the existing mature ones turning a sandy colour.
This seems a lot quicker than liberty caps. I found a patch (not in the garden unfortunately), and marked it with a GPS. It took them about 5 or 6 days of visits to grow from pins to mature.
they grow slow as hell. the ones in my patch take 6 days from pin to adult.
-------------------- Under his instruction, I taped drumsticks to his head and turned him into a sort of mummy, or perhaps a caterpiller in a cocoon. He remains this way for about three hours, making bizarre noises, pretending to be a new species that must learn to walk and talk and eat, etc. And he communicates with other life forms by way of the antennae on his head. Eventually we jam a tube from a waterbong into it's mouth and figure he's learned all he needs to know.
