Michael Moore has a new book. This one is all letters from soldiers. No one can say Moore lied this time.

I don't know about that. I wouldn't put it past M.M. to engage is tricky editing of some of those soldiers letters. I realy wouldn't.
I predict that in the coming weeks you will start hearing stories from soldiers complaining that MM edited their letters in such a way that gave them a totaly different meaning.

It sounds just dandy. I can't wait to read it. The book review from Amazon says:
Quote:
"Will They Ever Trust Us Again? goes beyond politics and gets to the heart of what the fighting in Iraq and the War on Terror are really about"
Of course this book "goes beyond politics". Who with any integrity would use our fighting men for political gain? I thought it was insulting for the reviewer to even insinuate that politics were in play. Michael Moore may have publicly stated that his goal is to influence this election, but that has nothing to do with this book.
I couldn't think of a better person to represent all of our fighting men than brave Michael Moore. When I read the title, I almost cried. I keep asking myself the question: Will they ever trust us again? Have we broken a sacred bond that can never be healed?
And even though I haven't read the book, I have an idea who is to blame for the sacred bond being broken. I am begining to have my doubts about the Bush Administration.

He's not "representing them", merely publishing their letters.
After all, Bush is hardly likely to is he.

Will he publish a representative sampling or will he pick and choose only the ones that support his anti-Bush agenda?????? I would say that he could quite easily distort the soldiers' position(s) this way. They are not after all of only one mind. In a group of this size, over a hundred thousand, you can find any and all shades of opinion. Selectively reporting the news you agree with and discarding the rest is most certainly distortion. Duh.

We hear Bush and the military's version of events every night on the evening news. A little balance, no matter if it's only in a book, is always important.

Great_Satan said: All of those letters are fake. Michael Moore is a liar and a terrorist. He gets money from Hezballah. Michael Moore hates white people. He wrote this:

http://www.geocities.com/milkmandan2003/KillWhitey2.html
http://www.geocities.com/milkmandan2003/KillWhitey3.html
http://www.geocities.com/milkmandan2003/KillWhitey4.html
Assuming your Hezballah bit is true, which I doubt but I'd like to see sources if you're so sure.. even assuming that, Bush took money from the one of Osama Bin Laden's (admittedly numerous) brothers (Salem bin Laden) to go look for oil in texas (which he failed to do). The company was called Arbusto if you want to look it up some more.
In reference to anyone who did any kind of business with terrorists, Bush said "U.S. banks that have assets of these groups or individuals must freeze their accounts," Bush declared. "And U.S. citizens or businesses are prohibited from doing business with them." Way to go Bush!
Michael Moore may be a lot of things, I'm not any fan of his, but he's not a terrorist and he has every right to make his bid at freedom of speech as the next guy.

It would be real easy to distort how the average GI feels about this war if he only picks those letters that support his agenda.
It would be so easy I think you can count on him doing it.
