very newbish question

Hello friends, I have an extremely basic question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I plan on growing and I was discussing this proposition with a friend and he tells me that the mushrooms smell really bad, and will stink up the entire house. Now this isn't a very appealing aspect to me if theres truth to it and as I've never seen somebody growing mushrooms I can't verify this myself. I've already used the search to find the answer but no dice.

So is it true? If so, what are some good remedys to prevent the stinkage?

I haven't noticed any smell at all. If there is a contam it could smell, but usually nothing that will penetrate the drawer/closet that you keep them in.

They "stink" like mushrooms. Maybe some people dont like the smell of mushms, so they say it stinks.
