A Shropshire nature lover was on cloud nine after spotting a nine-inch mushroom in his garden - and he was even more delighted when he discovered he could eat it.
Bob Cramp, from Ironbridge, thought the huge parasol mushroom was a puffball when he spied it at the bottom of his garden but after visiting an expert he found out he would be able to serve it up for dinner.
Mr Cramp, from Ironbridge, said he was looking forward to tucking in. And his recipe of choice? Mushroom fried in olive oil with a sprinkling of garlic and served on toast.
The pensioner, who is in his 70s and is a vegan, is delighted with his ready-made meal for one.
He said: "As a nature lover and someone who loves his food it was a real thrill to find the mushroom. I couldn't believe the size of it as I had never seen a mushroom that big before although I suppose it depends on what part of the country you look.I can't wait to eat it now."
