I've seen the preview so many times, it's on like every commercial. It does look scary though :whoa:
So I probably won't watch it, at least not any time soon.

When I saw the trailer for that movie, I got so freaked out.

I saw The Ring and to this day I have trouble with anxiety around my TV while home alone.  Yeah, it's a silly fear, but you know...the best horror movies will do that to you.

So I'm not sure if I am going to see The Grudge or not, because I'm not sure if I want to be psychologically scarred.

I'll probably end up seeing it, just because my curiousity overrides my common sense.

That thing crawling on the floor in the preview looks like that girl in The Ring that comes out of the t.v. and stuff, don't ya think? I mean I just caught a glimpse of it on the previews, but to my recollection it looks similar. The Ring was a little scary for me too though, hehe.

It looks alright, but it probably will not be as good the original Japanese version, just like the Ring and so many other movies of this type. If you like horror movies like this check out the original Japanese Ring, and a Hong Kong movie called the Eye that is probably the scariest movie I have ever seen.

I saw the commercial, and it looked decent until I saw who was starring in it. Id like to give it a chance, but I cant take Sarah Michelle Geller seriously. Shes a joke wb actor whos best quality is her looks

Um.. I never heard ANYTHING in the preview saying there was an actual connection to The Ring. I think it is a rip-off of it that's supposed to look like a sequel to The Ring. I could be wrong, though.. I'd prefer it be a sequel to The Ring.. that movie was f'kin' awesome.

Edit: To back up my point, I just looked up the director and distributing company for each film, and they are quite different. (The Ring was Dreamworks, The Grudge is Columbia Pictures.)

I'm pretty sure it's gonna be a cheap knock-off...

i was probably wrong about the connection to the ring. it's, i think, just actually another japenese movie (from director takashi shimizu) gone hollywood. the original is called: "ju-on: the grudge" or something along those lines... ringu was originally directed by nakata, and he is actually going to direct the hollywood version of his sequel to ringu 2, aptly called "the ring 2"..

anyway i guess it's just a movie in the same vein as the ring (stylistically). the movie is played out episodically, so i don't think anyone will have to worry about seeing too much of sarah michelle gellar. (i'm guessing the episodes mostly end in death)

but yeah..my curiousness will probably make me see this movie too, even though i am -not- looking forward to nights of terror by myself in my apartment

Ya when I saw it it looked cool but just so much was obviously ripped from the ring and then I saw the cast - you never know it could have been a good script just picked up by shit producers.

Hey guyz, I hope ya all know that it aint related to the ring and that this movie is a damn remake from 1 of the best japanese horror movie.

Just like the ring comes from ringu.

The grudge was originally Ju-on the grudge.

I recommand ya see these original first and then if ya still want to see a masacred movie go see the new thing.

personnally the grudge is far better then the ring, but those are only my 2 cents.
