casing question
    #3240801 - 10/11/04 12:14 AM (12 years, 5 months ago)

I have one cake that is going to be ready to birth about 1 -2 weeks before my others. I was wondering if there was anyway I could case the one and get a good yeild.

Idea on casing one cake:
1: Cut the cake in half so you get two patties.
2: Use a oven safe dish that is aprox. 1 1/2 inch high, 6 inch long and wide.
3: Put each pattie next to each other and you will get about an inch of colonized substrate.
4: Layer your casing normaly. I use virm/peat moss/lime.

Do you think this would work?

Sure it will work you'll get two areas of production. Have fun and GL!

I would break it into small marble size pieces, rather than just 2.

I really don't think theres going to be a noticable difference here, I suggest keeping it simple. You also don't want to spread your substrate to thin as this will effect fruiting.
