when to harvest????

Iv'e been seeing in nearly all the teks I've saw (beleive me; I've seen ALOT) that U are supposed to harvest just before/when the veil breaks. But, on much of the pics posted here, the caps are flat. Help me!!

for potency, my lizard has always harvested right after the veil breaks. it likes to take prints from ones that have not yet broken, then with a sterile knife, cut the veil, place on paper, etc...

They look so very cool if you let them mature. Once they start dropping spores, you're waited too long. You'll see a purple shadow on the stipe from the spores.

Sometimes the veils break a little early. Maybe due to the environment. Anyway, I don't think the harvesting threshold is as big of a deal as folks make it out to be. my two cents..

My friend just did a batch of Mexi-cubs and they are now fruiting. The shrooms are about 2" max height and the veils are starting to break. All the caps are still very round though, he said he was going to wait an extra day or two to see how much bigger they get. He just wants to snatch em up before they sporulate.
