sorry i probably misspelled the name. anyways my friend was given cyancin spores and wants to know if he should grow them. he has heard they are very potent and some people say they are too strong and wont even eat them. any opinions

You misspelled the name , yes.

There are 2 species that sound similar: Psilocybe cyanescens and Panaeolus cyanescens.
Which one is it?

he doesnt know. all he knows is they are cyanescens. what is the difference between Psilocybe cyanescens and Panaeolous cyanescens ??

are they good 2 eat? and will the make a consumer trip balls?

Psilocybe cyanescens - grows on woodchips, very potent, difficult to grow indoors
Panaeolus cyanescens - grows on straw and dung, very potent, fairly easy to grow indoors.

They contain psilocybin and psilocin if that was what you are asking, yes.

Psilocybe cyanescens will have a dark purplish brown spore print.
Panaeolus cyanescens will have a dark purplish black spore print.
Now it's up to you to figure out what ya got because each has very different parameters (needs). :wink: GL
