About 6 days ago I placed I chunk of tissue from the stem of a store bought oyster into h202 and then into a Karo jar, then incubated at 85F. Since then, I've got no contams, but no mycelial growth either. Am I being too impatient? I'm a little concerned that the mushrooms at the grocery store are sold 'dead' .. Is that even possible ? My other concern is that in addition to the standard Karo/Water mix I added a few cc's (in an almost-full pint jar) or h2o2 in an attempt to reduce contams, thinking that the mushroom tissue/myc would be able to survive it. This is my first attempt at growing anything, so I'm bound to have made mistakes somewhere.
