Cant get my babies to pin

My first time I had a small problem with contams; however, I succsesfully grew from start to the forth flush. I complete the inoculation phase just fine. When I birth the jar they grow mycilium for a while then they stop and never produce pins. My humidity and tempiture are good. I do innocualte in only one location. I just tried the cold shock method on a couple cakes. Please help.

um.. your mycelium should be fully mature before you birth it. Maybe that's why you had contam... There are 4 things that will indicate to the fungus that it's time to fruit.
1-gas exchange-lower CO2, more O2 2-drop in temperature 3-lights 4-no more substrate to colonize.
Try more fanning. Air is very important part in fruiting.

I apologize, I don't have a problem with con-tams. I have a problem getting the cakes to pin. I fan at the least, once a day. Is it possible that because I inoculated only one sight that by the time the jar fully colonized it did not have the strength to grow mushrooms? I am using 1/2 pint jars; however, I have the same problem with the 1/4 pint jars to.

No. I'd say nothing is sticking out enough in the info you've given to really show us the problem :/ There must be something though.

The advice I should give you is to take a day and $30 and make a Poor Man's Pod by Magash. It'll pay off and it really puts the cakes in an ideal condition with lots of fresh air and moisture.
BTW, what is the temperature like?

oh my goodness. That's one problem. Drop the temp to 75F. If you have to range it, set to 72-75 not to exceed 75F.
You might lose a bit of humidity from temp drop if the container is not sealed really well. If you lose humidity, use a spray bottle and drop shield or spray the sides with much care not to wet the cake.

Your temperature is too high. If you don't have knots or pins, go ahead with casing or dunk/cold shock all your cakes. Those cakes are still good. You just need to get it into right fruiting conditions after few pin strategies. Good Luck

Temp to high.
Fan more.
How longs it been? Take 3-14 days usually.
