Late Season Wild Cubes NE Kansas!!! (Pics)

Peaceful Nomadette and I were out at a horse dung pile obtaining substrate and relaxing on a cool autumn afternoon. As I was walking across the dung pile, I happened to look down in some grasses and saw a golfball sized mushroom peeking out. Curious to what I would find, I parted the grasses and was COMPLETELY DUMBFOUNDED in what was there..... Wild CUBES growing in NE Kansas!!!
This is not a guerilla grow. The fruits were found in a commonly disturbed part of the pile. I harvested as much as I could (cannot make it back and was in danger of being destroyed by those maintaining the pile), leaving behind a healthy number of pins.
The first specimens I found (70 grams wet total)
In the middle of the uncovered portion of the patch
Close up of pins
I felt like I was in Florida again! To find WILD cubes in NE Kansas is like winning the lottery!
Namaste,
Peaceful Nomad and Peaceful Nomadette

Damn! Can I go hunting with you guys!
Where in NE Kansas were they found....I am very familiar with that area.
Guess ya just found a Kansas strain to rival the Colo. strain!
Have ya ever found any other actives in the sunflower state?

Thanks for the bump GG... Bioassay of these specimens (30 wet grams) produced an easy take off, a 3-4 hour sustained level 4, and mellow ride throughout. The smaller of the large specimens below weighed a meaty 35 grams. The stipe was SOLID and the veil seems to remain attached like Malabars. I have one (hopefully) sterile print and one field expedient print. If there is somebody who has the equipment and expertise to work with the field expedient print and isolate a clean culture, PM me and I will send it to you for further research work. It appears the mycelium is extremely rhizomorphic, performing under colder weather conditions. Horse poop and stable shavings seem to be a perfect substrate for this cube strain (tentatively named KC strain). Here are a few more pics of the KC Strain: The 2 big ones side by side = 70+ grams wet 3 smaller specimens prior to cleaning = 20+ grams wet The biggest of the 2 large ones showing the solid nature of the stipe Namaste, Peaceful Nomad

The temps in this area are dropping, minimizing growth of that particular patch. From the looks of things, it had already flushed a couple of times. Additionally, the site was being constantly disturbed by material being added to or taken away from the pile. It is very possible the patch is covered by new material.
There should be a better fruiting throughout the pile next year. I would really like to see this particular strain domesticated. It has fantastic growing characteristics, and the effects are profoundly mellow.
Namaste,
Peaceful Nomad

Is it possible this strain may be able to adapt to and tolerate weather conditions on the west coast?

Does the fact that they grew on dung affect the taste of the mushrooms ?
