So are Cyans a more orange color? I saw some large orange mushrooms but I discarded them figuring they were Galerina! I should have made the connection: Cyan = Galerina lookalike = Possible Cyan! Oh well I'll be back out hunting soon enough!

Note the gill and spore print color. You can eliminate a lot of potential candidates by taking a spore print.

Cyans and galerinas are much smaller then that. Most cyan caps are about the size of a nickel to a half dollar piece at the largest, most of the time.

Are you looking on wood chips? because that mushroom appears to have been growing off dirt, not the cyan habitat.

That helps me out ALOT SweetLeaf - Although I have been looking in forests so any woodchips will have dirt with them, is this an acceptable place to look or should I be scoping mall parking lots? Also what is the average height of cyans? I always thought the fuckers were huge!

be looking in public parks and business plant/flower beds. You'll want the lighter colored wood chips also, not that super dark bark. Forests aren't very good for hunting cyans
