Looking good ... I hope to birth my babies in a week or so.
One question... do those cakes look a little under colonised? Especially the bottom on in the 4th pic. Or is that just verm and ok?
Nice to see shroomies 2 days after birthing.
This makes me anxious ... thanks

This is the first time I have heard anything about rolling them in Verm. Does this make much of a difference? Is it recommended?

I'll be birthing my first grow in a few days and am going to do the double casing tek on some of them. how do I sterilize the vermiculite without a microwave? I don't have one of those fancy pressure cookers with a gauge either, just a rocker on the lid.
couldn't I just buy a brand new bag of verm and trust it's sterile?

You sure can and if you are feeling a little noided you can moisten it with a 1:10 h2o2/water before applying I find placing premoistened verm, 50/50 gives much better results conpared to dry then moistening. I sometimes use the lids ring upside down as a guide to help apply it better also. GL

Oyster Shell "Flour" $2 for 1lb. a hell of a deal Not what is overlay but rather what overlay is Gas Exchange vs. FAE "We all have priorities. I used a closet once setup a nice little lab trouble was all the shit that was in there ended up in the bedroom that pissed off the GF then I ended up dumping her as she was getting in the way of my sterile culture technique! Ya I got priorities too!!!"

What is the bluish area at the base of the mushroom in the second pic? Is it a little brusing?

Just picked those two mushies and making a print in a 1/2 pint jar of the biggest one. gonna store them in plastic bags inside a jar w/ selica gel or something like it till the full first flush is done.
