jar for cake

hello just bn out looking for a jar without neck and found this while i was looking, do you think i could use this? i dont have presure cooker, i as planing on using a big pan with lid, do you think if i put somthing in the bottom of pan such as the metal thing with holes from my egg poacher it will stop these melting.



also found this box, any good?

The lid isn't a very design IMHO. You can't really put good size holes and then be able to seal it up with tape while sterilizing. There's also that groove water can sit on after you sterilize it.

If you were planning on using the plug, I'd think it'd be a bad jou jou because you'd have to touch it.

I think you'd be better off using some cups with 2 layers of aluminum foil.


That bin looks nice for a PMP set up, though. Clean it thoroughly with bleach before you use it. Good luck

Oh, if you want to use a steamer, that's great! If you don't want to, just drop a face towel on the bottom of the pot before you drop the jars in. Good luck

You can if you want. It just seems like a poor choice for a container. Too complicated. Also, the water can seep from that blue thing in the middle, collect some contam then seep into that hole which looks like it's right next to and below the edge of that blue thing.

I just think there are better suited jars than the one you picked out. It doesn't mean you can't use it successfully, though. It's just my thought.
