green mold in a mycobag
    #3233730 - 10/08/04 05:47 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

So this is not necessarily my first time trying to grow shrooms, however it is my first time trying to do the whole process on my own. Before it was done as more of a group effort.
Here is my question, I have ordered 10 bags from mycobag and I think that I have green mold in one of the bags. I broke the bags up on Tuesday night after they were almost completely colonized. I looked at the bags this morning and they were almost completely colonized, but one of the bags looks like there might be green mold starting to grow. In that bag that was a few pieces of grain stuck at the top of the bag and it does look like this is where the mold started. The problem is that I think that the rest of my bags have started to show signs of green mold. I might be paranoid. Is this defiantly green mold? Is there anything I can do to save the bag? Will the mold travel the my other bags in the incubator? I have already taken out the initial suspect bag.
Any suggestions would be helpful. Any advice is much appreciated. And any comments in general will be taken into consideration.

It is enclosed so no it shouldnt travel.

Wait a day or two and see if it spreads.

Once you see it start spreading, ya should toss it.

Blueing can look green so see if it grows, if it does, its bad and toss it. Its possible your seeing bluing it the other bags and green in the other. Or its all bruising. Or its all green. Also if its on colonized part, chances are its bruising, if it started on uncolonized kernals then probably bad news.

Thank you for the advice and the comments. I do however fear that one of my bags is contaminated. I have yet to make a conclusion as to the condition of my other few bags.
