Hippies Mycro PF tek

My friends 3 legged cat is thinking about growing 12 B+ and 12 PF cakes this way. The cakes are left to get sunlight through the entire process of growth and the cakes are left in the jars for the entire time. Leaving you with fruits inside the jars. Has anyone tried this method, and does it work as good as they say at the PF website. Also does anyone have any suggestions on growing in bulk.

The only issue with sunlight would be overheating the jars. What do you think the cubies in shit get all day long?
