Festival of Cyanescenness!

Dry weather or not, the Cyans are out in full shroom here in seattle. Bark beds with thick cover of ivy and blackberry bushes keep the mulch wet for days after rainfall and even morning dew! The recent rain earlier this week produced massive amounts of pins. We picked about a hundred and some change today and left several hundred more to mature a while.
Drying out:
This is going to be a goooooood season. . . wait a minute, it already is!

Nice find. I still have someone cyutting mulch form three of my patches now3. I visited a few today to find all the pinners [pulled up and ripped out.
Hate to think I have to do the same or people will take them all.
Others have not yet fruited. But i know they will with a heavy rain.

AS others have often stated...
"Learn to pick the fruits correctly!"
Try to pick the fruit without the substrate attached. I use my thumbnail, others use a knife, I have also perfected the twist and pull method. Whatever method you employ, be careful...please!

Super cool find. Gives me hope that I might find a few some day. Although, to be honest, I can already feel it...This is my year. I WILL find cyans this fall.
*chants mantra*
I will find shrooms....I will find shrooms....Ohmmmmmmmmm!

It's either the Leaf Collector, or some other phantom-villian who steals little cup sized divets filled white mycelium. Where does it all go? I mean it.. somebody tell me where it all goes.
Pinche bueno x-phile! Thanks for the shining armor routine this early morning. My blood pressure fuses with your nerve. You're a cyaniffic traffic merger, cops and all. What type of environment are you finding such mature specimens? I mean, walk softly and tussle with a big stick, dog. Really though, Tx much.

Just a retort to those who mentioned the cutting/snapping the fruit at the bottom of the stem. . . we do! We just couldn't let that particular family of mushrooms part. They looked way too cool stuck together and there was plenty nearby mycelium to go round. Do appreaciate the concern for future fruit/other mushroom hunters though! We're all in this together! On a slightly dissonent note I'll post our Amanita Muscaria pics tomorrow. . .
