What exactly do you need to know about them?

4. Do NOT ask what mushrooms can be found growing in your state or imediate area
This information is easily found in the Mushroom Hunting FAQ and/or has been posted at least once elsewhere on the net.

the species that grow there are listed in the FAQ.

DH is right, but i will take pity on you being a fellow brit.

Familiarise youself with the identitiy and habitat of the famous liberty cap (psilocybe semilanceata). It is by far the most common magic mushroom found in the uk. If grows all over the nation. It is one of the most potent shrooms, and also fairly easy to identify.

There are a few others that can be found in the uk, such as P. cyanescens, but they tend to be less wide spread.

It's well worth buying a decent mushroom field guide.
There is also a book (albeit a fairly old one) about British magic mushrooms called: Psilocybin Mushrooms of Britain (i think thats the name)... do a search on amazon - it's only a fiver.

I am in the process of writing a new book on British shrooms which will be packed full of info and photos. Watch this space.

happy hunting.
