It actually kind of looks like a dry liberty cap. Take spore print by breaking off the cap and setting it gillside down on a peice of paper, then putting a cup over it. Check it in about 6 hours and see what the color is. It should be a purple-brown.

Is there any blueing at the base of the stem?

What part of the world are you located in?

Ok the spore print will help alot. If its black or brown you most likely have a pan.

What color are the younger, wet ones? They should have a tan/olive slimy cap and a white stem.

Is there blueing at the base of the stem?

Im unsure of the younger wetter ones. Acutally yes they had a tan colured cap. But weren't slimy at all. And i don't believe they had a white stem. when you say pan you mean what? (im new to all this) No its not brusing blue at the bottom of them stem.

Yep i willl let u know on the spore print whne i get home.

Pan = short for the mushroom genus Panaeolus

Spore prints can really eliminate a lot of potential look alikes.. Try to get one of those first next time

Black spores indicate a species of the genus Panaeolus. The lack of any blue coleration on the stem makes me doubt that it is active. Most species of Panaeolus are inactive. I would try doing a search for Panaeolus species reported from Australia to see if any of the ones reported match what you have found.

Peace

Horrible advice and if you give advice like this again, you'll be banned. This is an offical warning.

As far as the mushrooms in this post goes, no, those are not Copelandia cyanescens. If they were not growing from cow dung and did not bruise blue(very obvious on copes) then that eliminates Copes.

Sorry man, no dice.

Gumby, check the general questions, he tells some dude to take a whole bottle of asperin before his trip. And then "highly reccomends" it afterwards.
